Involvement in NGOs
Dr. Joshi is one of the founder members of the EMA (Environmental Management Action) Group, Society for Holistic Environmental Management Services and Nepal Bonsai and Conservation Society (NEBCOS). At present he is the President of Environmentalist's Association of Nepal (EAN) and Vice Chairman in NEBCOS (Nepal Bonsai and Conservation Society) and Nepal EIA Association.

Involvement in Research
He carried out many multidisplinary researches encompassing various areas i.e. Environment Assessment, Environmental Management, Biodiversity, Ethnobotany, Environmental Planning, Pollution, Land - Use & Area Management , Environmental Policy, Institutions, Environment Education.

Involvement in Project Implementation and Capacity Building
He involved in many projects related to Environment, Biodiversity, Policy, and Institution & Capacity building. He was also a team leader in many committee and task force. During his tenure (Director General of SACEP & SES Program), he has completed many valuable and important projects in the area of sustainable management of natural resources and activities related to capacity building in South Asia.
