Contributions
1. Biosystematics - Chemotaxonomy : She has contributed to resolve the centroversy related to the classification of Dipterocarpaceae of south Asia, especially of Sri Lank, by using flavonoids as indicators.She has also studied the species of Dipterocarpaceae of Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal.
2. Biodiversity conservation and utilization of Species : She has reviewed the works related to biodiversity, ethnobotany and conservation. She has published a book "Ethnobotany & Conservation of Plant Diversity in Nepal" and many papers in international and national journals.
3. As she is the member of Botany Subject Committee of TU, she contributed to include Chemotaxonomy in the syllabus of B.Sc. and M.Sc.
4. She has supervised M.Sc. Thesis on various areas of Biodiversity.
5. As being the Executive Director of EMA Group and Vice-President of ENPHO, she is trying to integrate the applied aspects in the biodiversity conservation and environmental management.
6. Dr. Joshi has carried out some DNA sequencing in Aster spp in the Harvard University, USA
